Job Title:                                  Police Chief for the Town of Wickenburg

FLSA Status:                            Exempt, Full-time

Salary Range:                           $63,356 – 95,035 (DOQ)

The Police Chief manages, supervises and administers all aspects of law enforcement and related services for the Town of Wickenburg.  The ideal candidate will be an energetic leader with outstanding communication and customer service skills.  He/she will be highly visible and engaged in the community, creatively leveraging partnerships to provide services.  The Chief should be respected for his/her vision, but likewise unafraid to participate at all levels of the department.  He/she will be comfortable in the spotlight while maintaining an attitude of patience and humility, understanding that teamwork across all departments is paramount in a small organization.  The Chief will subscribe to the highest ethical standards and take personal pride in the principles of honesty, fairness, accountability and transparency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Police Science, Business Administration or related field and five (5) years of management experience; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain Arizona Police Officer Standard Training (P.O.S.T) certification within 180 days of hiring

Must maintain residence within five miles of the Town Limits within one year of employment
